Train Wreck of the Week: Prank Callers

This week's Train Wreck comes out of Europe. Following the biggest of all breaking news (seriously CNN sent out text alerts to tell people) Kate Middleton is prego (well done Prince William, well done) two Australian DJ's called Kate Middleton in the hospital pretending to be Queen Elizabeth.

Now I always find Prank calls to be pretty funny, just look up Mr. Burgess on Youtube and you'll start hearing some pretty funny prank calls.

But what these guys caused was a little more than a prank. I've yet to hear the call, but the backlash has lead to a death and a lot of grief. It might also cost these guys their jobs.

Following the prank call, the nurse responsible for transferring the call to Kate Middleton (Jacintha Saldanha) has apparently committed suicide. This has sparked outrage and controversy over this, as well as led to a lot of trouble for DJ's Michael Christian and Mel Greig.

This led me to grant Prank Callers the Train Wreck of the Week. I've always loved prank calls, and I will always love them. Unfortunately I think they've started to go a little too far. Everything is fun and games until someone gets hurt and someone has finally gotten hurt from it. I'm sure people have been hurt in the past, but it's never been to this magnitude.

And look, if you're ever on the wrong end of a prank call, let it go. It's just a game, there's no reason to kill yourself over it. Just laugh it off and apologize for looking stupid.
