Timesplitters HD Still Possible, Needs Fan Support

By: Colby Martin

I never had a great experience with Timesplitters and that's probably played it so many years after it originally was released. However, I've always been inclined to the idea of a Timesplitters 4 or even an HD remake of the original trilogy. Which brings us to the story coming in from GameInformer.

While speaking with GameInformer, Crytek President Cevat Yerli explained that he personally wished to resurrect the Timesplitters series. However he stated that it was very hard to justify from a business perspective.

"For me, I would love to see the game out there, as a newborn HD version or what not," he admitted. "I definitely would love to see it. But the case of turning this into a business decision is still difficult, despite the fact that there was a Twitter request feed to test the waters."

Yerli explained that there have been previous attempts with little to no support. However he stated there was an online petition, which you can sign below, that is available for fans to sign.

Looking at the petition though, it doesn't look good. It's requested over 200,000 signatures to justify the HD remakes, but as of writing it sits at 37,585.

Timesplitters is originally property of Free Radical. Free Radical was purchased by Crytek after the company suffered significant financial issues following the release of PS3 exclusive Haze. Free Radical was last known to be working on Star Wars Battlefront 3.
